Go! Go! Watch These Animated Power Rangers Shorts!

(YouTube Link)

These awesome, and really short, animated shorts are by Power Rangers fan Mike McCraw, and they look like the perfect way to start off a sweet new animated series!

Seriously, I wasn't a big fan of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers TV show (I prefer Ultraman or Guyver), but I would definitely watch an animated series drawn in this comic book style, and any show that features heroes beating up on giant monsters gets my vote!

Mike- it's been a while since your last short was posted, when are we gonna see more?!

Superheroic Representations Of Typography

This fun superhero themed graphic design series is by Matthew Olin, a guy who knows that great graphic design comes with great responsibility, namely the fact that his works must be pleasing to the eye.

Matthew's designs are capitalizing on a recent trend, as nothing says pleasing to the geeky masses like superhero themed artwork, and likening heroes to different types of typography is an even more appealing idea!

This Guy's Room Is Like A Time Capsule From The 90s

(YouTube Link)

Taking a trip around YouTuber PauseDa90s bedroom is like travelling back in time, when the pants were Cross Colours, slap bracelets were all the rage, and Zac Morris and the gang were Saved By The Bell.

It's enough to make me wish I'd never thrown out some of my "vintage" goodies from the 90s, but what's with the random mini diskettes hanging around without an old IBM 486 PC to use them on?

(NSFW due to language- just watch it without the sound because the guy is obnoxious!)

This Big Red Bus Does Push Ups

Czech artist David Cerny has come up with a fun way for this big red double decker bus to stay in shape- he gave it arms so it can do push ups!

The push up bus is going to serve as an ambassador of sorts for the Czech people, because it will be set up outside the Czech Olympic headquarters during the 2012 London Olympics.

Go Big Red Bus!

This Picture Is Worth A Thousand Calories

Cocoagraph is a Philadelphia based company that sells a rather unique confection- edible chocolate photographs available in four flavors all ready to print and eat.

I'm not sure why you would want to eat a photo, but the Cocoagraph seems like a fun gift, and the act of eating a photo bar makes for a great photo opp.

Fly Fashion Ads From The 1970s

These fashion ads from 1970s feature an array of styles and garments no one should be caught dead wearing in public, unless you're attending a Halloween party or Player's Ball.

From fly pimp daddy furry coats to patchwork pants and jumpsuits, people sure had strange taste in clothing back in the day!

Meet The Kissenger - A Kiss Messaging Device

This strange little egg shaped device with lips is called the Kissenger, and it's supposed to somehow make being alone in the world feel a little more bearable.

You might be asking yourself- how does this creepy looking thing make someone feel anything but sheer horror?

The answer is- by giving you a big old kiss, of course!

The Kissenger allows you to send and receive kisses via pressure sensitive lips and an internet connection, just don't let anybody see you kissing this thing or you may find yourself even more alone than you were before!

Post Apocalyptic Web Series - Silent City

(YouTube Link)

There's a new post-apocalyptic web series called Silent City that may make a web series believer out of you.

Silent City centers around a wasteland traveler who is constantly on the lookout for a bite to eat and a safe place to sleep.

It starts to pick up with episode two, which premiered on July 15th, and I for one can't wait to see what lies in store for the lone traveler in this cool new series!

Surreal And Spacy Illustrations By Raccoon Nook

Illustrator Raccoon Nook has blended styles so seamlessly that he has hit upon a style all his own.

With anime, magazine illustration and graffiti influences evident in his works, Raccoon's work supercedes them all without sacrificing that all important eyeball appeal.

I get lost in his works just trying to figure out what the heck is going on, meaning they each have a unique and interesting story to tell that is sure to keep me wanting to see more!

Pulp Novel Covers Based On Marvel Superheroes

These fun, pulp novel inspired cover designs are by an artist named Calamity Jon, a guy with a silly name who has designed some seriously stylish covers!

A Marvel comics series set in a pulp/noir styled universe would be rather fun to read, but might not make for top sales considering it wouldn't be as good without a mature rating.

Colin Mochrie Loves His Star Wars Toys

(YouTube Link)

Colin Mochrie is a comedian, Whose Line Is It Anyway alumnus, and an avid Star Wars toy enthusiast, at least according to this video which shows him re-enacting scenes from Star Wars with a bunch of toys.

Watch this video and you'll see that a grown man can become a silly little kid again at the drop of a hat when he gets his hands on his favorite toys.

Olympic Structure Which Can Be Played Like A Musical Instrument

This awesomely abstract piece of structural art is called the Coca-Cola Beatbox, and it can be played like a musical instrument by visitors who come into contact with its crystalline walls.

Here's how it works:
The Coca-Cola Beatbox, as its called, was designed by Asif Khan and Pernilla Ohrstedt and is made up of over 200 "interlocked translucent air cushions, each the size of a billboard." Those air cushions contain different sounds—which include athletes' heartbeats, shoes squeaking and arrows hitting a target—and will be triggered by people walking in and out of the Beatbox through gestures and movement.

Advertising gimmick or not, this is a pretty cool idea that's guaranteed to add a bit of color to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Woman Had A Pen In Her Stomach For 25 Years

It's a story you hear every day- woman goes in to see her doctor due to rapid weight loss, and an x ray reveals that she's had a felt tip pen stuck in her stomach for the last 25 years.

Here's more:
On subsequent questioning, she recalled unintentionally swallowing a pen 25 years earlier. While she was interrogating a spot on her tonsil with the pen she slipped, fell and swallowed the pen by mistake. Her husband and general practitioner dismissed her story and plain abdominal films done at the time were reported as normal. A gastroscopy demonstrated a plastic felt-tip pen sitting in the lumen of the stomach without evidence of any gastric damage [...] The pen was still in working order (figure 2). This case highlights that plain abdominal x-rays may not identify ingested plastic objects and occasionally it may be worth believing the patient's account however unlikely it may be.

They should use this story to advertise those pens, because if it can still write after 25 years in somebody's stomach that's one heck of a quality pen!

A Guide To Recognizing Your Bread Cats

This handy, and adorable, illustrated chart will help you identify those pesky bread cats that have been hanging around your back door meowing their yeasty little heads off.

I don't know why but I find the idea of a cream horn cat to be quite disgusting, and I have a feeling that the rising dough cat isn't going to make it out of the oven in one piece!

The original artwork by Brittney Sabo and Britt Hammerberg is available for sale as an art print. Link  --via TDW
