How Much Is That Connery In The Window?

Photo: Thomas Fitzgerald/Flickr

Rows of (mostly) celebrity masks line the window of a novelty shop in Dublin, and it's hard to put your finger on when this pic was taken.

On one hand Austin Powers, Uncle Fester and Michael Jackson are present, which means this pic could be pre-Y2K, but then you've got David Beckham, Bin Laden and Graham Norton looking all 21st century...

So when was this picture taken? Hit the link above and find out! Bonus points to anyone who can name all the faces in this window.

Cats Aren't Big Fans Of Halloween

Kittehs aren't big fans of costumes or Halloween for that matter, and some little furballs dread the yearly arrival of All Hallow's Eve so much it starts to affect their mood.

Do your little kitteh a favor and keep the costuming to a minimum- put it on, snap some pics and let those kittehs roam free.

And if your kitteh attacks while you're strapping a cute creepy little mask on their face you have only yourself to blame!

Ellen DeGeneres has discovered the entertainment value of fright, but instead of subjecting herself to the horror she lets her writer Amy witness it all, and hilarious videos are born.

Up top we have Amy's adventure onboard the Queen Mary in 2011, and below that we have the 2012 video of Amy and her friend Jeanie going through Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt. They're spook-tacularly fun to watch and good for a ghoulish laugh!

Kia Hamsters Spotted In Austin, Texas

Photo: 4ELEVEN Images/Flickr

The Kia Hamsters like to do some serious partying after they're done filming car commercials, and what better way to let off some steam than hanging out on the streets of Austin, Texas around Halloween?

Just don't ask them to be your designated driver, because those scenes were all created using digital special effects. Dancing, on the other hand, is what these hip hamsters do best!

Beware The Dreaded Catahedron

A dangerous beast is on the loose and seeking vengeance against all of humanity!

It's called the Catahedron, and it has been forced to wear an annoying and uncomfortable costume for the last time.

The Catahedron was initially brought into existence by a costumer of felines named maicoh, who has detailed her experience on a website called Instructables, replicating the process so we'll all know what not to do...

She has unleashed this geometric madness upon mankind, will this litter box we call a world ever be the same again?

Creating The Zombies On The Walking Dead

(YouTube Link)

The Walking Dead has brought the zombie apocalypse to the small screen in a big way, and owes much of its success to the frightfully good looking shambling undead, the largest and stinkiest supporting cast on television.

A team of artists led by special effects wizard Greg Nicotero bring the zombies (back) to life with a combination of prosthetics and CGI animation, and the team won a well deserved Emmy for their outstanding makeup.

See how it's done in this insightful behind-the-scenes video, and you'll find bonus tips on zombie makeup at the link below.

Halloween Aboard The Queen Mary

(YouTube Link)

The Queen Mary is a famous ocean liner, hotel, historical landmark and entertainment destination all rolled into one, and every year around Halloween the Queen opens itself up to all sorts of spooks and spirits during their Dark Harbor event.

This year there are more monsters, and terrifying mazes, on board than ever before, and if you visit her decks you'll be glad that the Queen Mary is permanently docked in Long Beach, California and no longer hits the high seas...

A Gaggle Of Amazing Geek-O-Lanterns

If you enjoy Halloween-geek crossovers as much as we do then this assortment of finely carved pumpkins will light up your life, and may inspire you to try your hand at carving your own homage to geekdom.

Alex started off the Halloween geek-o-lantern extravaganza by sharing a carved Cthulhu pumpkin, but that was just the preface to this parade of pumpkins!

That's Why They Call Them FishLips

This strange act of fish themed face painting may not work as a Halloween costume, but it sure does make for some great photos!

I think I just found Nemo, and you don't want to know what he's been up to since he first went missing...

Church Gets Into The Halloween Spirit With Star Wars Tableau

Not every church has turned against Halloween, and some are even getting into the Halloween spirit by setting up fun tableaus on the lawn.

Aside from the fact that Luke looks mighty uncomfortable about Jesus laying hands on him, this is a funny Halloween scene set up by someone who clearly still has a sense of humor about religion.

The Walking Dead Escape With Robert Kirkman

(YouTube Link)

Experience the terrifying Walking Dead Escape zombie obstacle course from the safety of your seat thanks to the Nerdist Channel's series Just Cos.

They visited the course at the 2011 Comic Con, and caught creator Robert Kirkman running the course like a boss, meaning with a full camera crew in tow.

The zombie apocalypse has never seemed so athletic!

What Would Star Wars Droids Wear On Halloween?

Droid loving geek art illustrator Andrea Gerstmann has asked, and answered, a very poignant scifi question with her latest series of works- what would R2D2 and C-3PO wear for Halloween?

Apparently they would wear costumes very similar to what humans would wear, although R2 looks way better than any human in his Oscar the Grouch getup!

Pictures Of Terrified People In The Nightmares Fear Factory

Niagara Falls, Canada is home to one of the most terrifying haunted houses in the world- the Nightmares Fear Factory.

With a claim to fame of over 100,000 people chickening out, these pics of unsuspecting guests losing their minds with fear prove that only the brave should attempt to traverse this terrifying attraction.

It's fun to see people frozen in fear at the sight of something scarifying, but some of the people in these pics must be hamming it up for the camera, or else they're just embarrassingly easy to scare!

Paint The Undead Red On A Zombie Themed Paintball Course

Master prop builder Ron McCall has opened the Zombie Combat Zone in Surrey, British Columbia- a nearly 50 acre forest crawling with actors dressed like the undead for paintball enthusiasts to shoot full of color.

McCall is doing his best to bring the zombie movie experience to real life in the Zone, and from the look of it all this is going to be one paintball experience combatants will be telling their grandkids about!
