A Baby's First Halloween

Photo: atomicshark/Flickr

It's baby's first Halloween, and even though they're too young to trick-or-treat they can still wear a costume and join in on the Halloween fun.

Just make sure the costume doesn't cover their face or eyes, because you're supposed to be showing the world how cute your baby is, not trying to conceal their identity.

Also be sure to use a baby safe costume- free of dyes and materials that will irritate their skin, without metal zippers that can pinch their skin or anything small that a chew-happy baby might choke on.

Enjoy baby's first Halloween- they'll be the center of attention, and you get to eat all the candy!

One Seriously cool and crafty dad made this ice cream man costume for his little trick-or-treater Carter, who has spina bifida and is wheelchair bound.

Carter wanted to live out his unlimited ice cream dreams, a luxury he believes is afforded only to ice cream truck drivers, so dad came to the rescue and made an ice cream truck costume that fits around Carter's wheelchair.

Cute story, even cuter kid's costume!

Bone Chilling Giant Spider Projection

(Vimeo Link)

A clever scaremonger named Friedrich van Schoor came up with a really clever way to terrify the arachnophobes everyone in his neighborhood- by projecting video of normal sized spiders to make them appear to be as large as a Buick.

This is one house I guarantee people will steer clear of on Halloween!

Hyperrealistic Sculpture Of Yoda

Sculptor Andrea Eusebi created this amazingly detailed rendition of Yoda looking like a little elderly human, complete with liver spots, tufts of hair growing out of his ears and wrinkles galore.

Aside from the pointy ears this sculpt looks like someone I've seen before, while waiting in line for soup at the local deli...

A massive LEGO art vampire was built in New Orleans to officially usher in the Halloween season, and the fun part is- it was built by a crowd of people!

Here's more on this epic scale LEGO build:

LEGO kicked off the countdown to the Halloween season by inviting the New Orleans community to build a 12-foot tall LEGO vampire by the light of the full moon in the company’s first ever all night build. Set against the backdrop of Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral, they built spooky Lego Lord Vampyre -- based on the lead villain from the new Monster Fighters line.

Seventeen Costume Fails You Should Avoid

Most of the useful tips that make up this list of what not to do when dressing up for Halloween should be pretty obvious to anyone who has put some thought into their costume, but you never know!

Maybe someone will read through the list and think "looks like I'm gonna have to come up with something else to wear" or "hey, that's me! what's wrong with my costume?"

If this happens to you stay calm and keep reading, it will all become clear by the end of the post...

Retro Style Frankenweenie Movie Poster Designs

The folks behind Tim Burton's new film Frankenweenie know that horror movie posters were best back in the day.

From the fonts to the cheesy taglines to the awesome staging of characters and background, they were often more of a visual treat than the movies themselves!

Frankenweenie, however, is sure to be lots of fun to watch on the big screen, but while we're waiting for it to be released we'll have to settle for enjoying these really cool movie posters...

A darling little Sith Lord got to spend the day at Disneyland in the costume of her choice, so she chose to go as pink princess Darth Vader.

Cuteness could become the ultimate weapon when combined with a Sith Lord's Force powers, but the good guys have a little cuteness of their own named Yoda.

The Political Halloween Mask Poll So Far

Sales of Halloween masks based on U.S. Presidents, and presidential hopefuls, have served as an unofficial election poll that has proven right every time since Clinton Vs. Dole, 1996.

Does the fact that Obama mask sales far outnumber those of the Romney mask prove that he'll be re-elected come November? I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
