Photo: alasam/Flickr

Did you dress up your furry family members for Halloween, only to decide that taking them out trick-or-treating is a bad idea?

Then do what Flickr member alasam did and turn dress up into a photo shoot!

You'll have some precious photo memories of your pets all dressed up for Halloween, and they'll have a look in their eye that says "I'm not enjoying the photo shoot as much as you are..."

This Zombie Pineapple Would Make One Mean Pina Colada

Not all Halloween carvings must be rendered in pumpkin, this pineapple zombie is downright scary without the candle and orange skin!

It was created by DeviantARTist kjas with a pineapple, some Laffy Taffy, black raspberry jam blood and a pair of custom eyes.

How Images Were Manipulated Before Photoshop

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition made up of 200 photos which were altered or manipulated in some way between 1840 and 1900, well before the advent of digital image manipulation via programs like Photoshop.

They should have called the exhibition Ye Olde Way To Shoppe A Photo!

Scary Cute Animated Short - The Colors Of Evil

(Vimeo Link)

Animators Phillip Simon and Alyse Miller aim to change your perception of evil with this wickedly cute animated short entitled The Colors Of Evil.

Watch as the gates of Hell are thrown open, and a demon emerges unlike any you've ever seen before!

A Tim Burton Inspired Pokemon Menagerie

These crude yet utterly adorable sketches are by Vaughn Pinpin, who decided to show the world what Pokemon would look like if they were drawn by Tim Burton.

The only thing that would make this series better would be if Tim Burton actually drew them, then started making a series of animated shorts based on his scraggly version of Pokemon.

With the look of these little guys I'm not so sure anyone will want to catch them all...

A Handsomely Decorated Halloween Cake

This elegantly simple Halloween themed cake has a gnarly frosting tree crawling up the side, lots of sweet ghosts, black cats, pumpkins and bats, and the top is emblazoned with a spider's web bearing a birthday greeting.

It's a sweet work of cake art, and it looks like it was made with frosting, instead of fondant, so it was probably delicious to booooo-t!

Men Dressed As Handbags Invade Hollywood

Photo: City Of West Hollywood/Flickr

They're just a bunch of handbags out on the town, no big deal on the fashionable Hollywood streets.

Wait, this picture was taken during the 2011 Halloween festivities in West Hollywood? That explains the clown...

This German Theme Park Has The Halloween Spirit

This is what the German theme park Europa-Park looks like around Halloween, complete with a massive smiling jack-o-lantern with a hidden rollercoaster inside.

Stay tuned for more fun images of Halloween celebrations from around the globe!

This Costume Is For The Birds

Photo: Brent Moore/Flickr

This clever Melanie Daniels costume, a character from Hitchcock's classic horror film The Birds, is so easy to put together that anyone can make it.

All you need is a vintage dress and jacket, blonde wig, some stuffed birds and lots of fake blood.

Slash the jacket for added horrific effect, maybe add a wound effect or two to your face and you've got a memorable Halloween costume in the making.

The King Is Back And Barking Up A Storm

Photo: Aphrodite-In-NYC/Flickr

Elvis may have physically "left the building", but his spirit lives on inside this cute little dressed up dog!

He ain't a hound dog, but his barkin' all the time drives the poodles in skirts wild. I think they're blinded by this little guy's bold personality and oversized belt buckle.

Celebrating Halloween In Antartica

Photo: Mykie Hoban/Flickr

These happy food shaped revellers are stationed at McMurdo research station in Antartica, but that didn't stop them from throwing on their costumes and having some Halloween fun.

They're dressed as Flunch- a flight lunch: 2 sandwiches, chips, apple, a juice box and a Kit Kat. What a fun and healthy meal!

Did Vincent Van Gogh Just Walk Through The Door?

Photo:Matthew David Powell/Flickr

This clever costume really brings the Van Gogh theme to life, and aside from that wire around his head it looks like a fairly comfortable costume to wear.

We applaud this guy's painting skills, creativity, and the fact that he still has both of his ears!

This Roadkill Cat Decoration Is All Sorts Of Wrong

Photo: Mandy Jouan/Flickr

This roadkill kittie decoration may not be to your taste, but at least it will spark up conversation when the legions of candy crazed children arrive at your doorstep!

Now, before your heart drops remember- this is only a plushie, no cats were harmed in the making of this hilariously tacky decoration.
