Creative artist and wine lover Amella Fais Harnas has come up with a great reason for going through so many bottles of fermented grape goodness - she paints portraits in wine stains!
Amella's works are delightfully warm in color, and the softly bleeding edges add a nice organic feel to each piece, although the gallery must smell like a wino convention after the paintings have aged on the walls for a while.

Australian filmmaker Neil Harvey combined original footage and 3D animation with stock footage from the NASA archives to create ROBBIE- a spaced out short film about the robotic beings that help the humans at NASA explore the cosmos.

The film-making process involved downloading about 10 hours of footage from the NASA archives and compiling a list of shots which resonated with me at some level. I did this over about 2 or 3 months when I had the spare time. From there, I put these selected shots on an editing timeline and watched them back until characters and narratives began developing in my mind. That is when i met Robbie.

Photographer Noah Kalina braved the inherent fear of aging and took 4,514 portraits of himself over 12 years, then he put them all together in video form, adding a suitably eerie electronic track for aural effect.
Since this is the follow up to his previous 6 year record, I'm sure he'll keep checking in with a new video every six years until he literally drops dead while filming. See you in six Noah!

Industrious builder of wondrous contraptions Dan Rosenfeld channelled his love of video conferencing, and the Apple Macintosh commercial from 1984, into an awesome Big Video Head rig that would make the Wizard of Oz green with envy.

The rig is a head-mounted box with a 24-inch LCD monitor on the front that displays a larger-than-life version of Dan's face. Inside the box, Dan has a tiny camera trained on his face, a microphone, and a monitor connected to an external camera so he can see where he's going. To test gaze awareness, the rig is configured so that Dan is looking directly at you while talking to reduce the thousand-yard stare associated with teleconferencing.
