Would You Accept A Piggyback Ride From This Man?

Nick Latimer is Baxi, a piggyback transportation company that offers the public a service which is both awkward and embarrassing, and he wants to tote you around Toronto for a fee.

Or maybe he's doing it all to promote his indie flick Hogtown, which is about a Baxi turned serial killer. It's definitely an original way to get the word out about your film! I wonder how many people actually took a ride on Nick's back?

Play Indie Game Rambo: Last Blood

Indie video games are often strange, simplistic, and frequently laugh out loud funny. Rambo: Last Blood manages to be all three, and it plays out like a short story told with very simple controls and lots of pixels.

Join John Rambo on his last mission in this fun indie game full of machismo, redemption and lots of hugs!

Gotham City PSAs

These ridiculous anti-drug PSAs are brought to you by Dorkly, who reminds you that the Caped Crusader can't always be around to pull you out of harms way.

Sometimes, you just have to stand up for yourself and say "No thank you, I do not want to become a maniacal supervillain, so I will skip the mind altering substances and go straight to the library to catch up on my homework". Way to be a better you!

Surreal Music Video-Are You Gonna' Waste My Time?

(YouTube Link)

When you and your fellow bandmates are made entirely out of food, you shouldn't encourage hungry canines to come and watch the show, no matter how cute they are.

This awesome music video for Zeus' Are You Gonna' Waste My Time? is a delight for both fans of rock and roll and those who enjoy the puppet arts, and it serves as a reminder that the old adage is still true-you are what you eat!

How To Resign From Microsoft Like A Boss

(YouTube Link)

Working for Microsoft requires a level of commitment  not found in many other jobs, which means tendering your resignation should be an equally grand gesture.

Karen Chang decided to write and perform a song as her "letter" of resignation, sung to the tune of American Pie by Don McLean. Watch her kiss those "long, long lines of code" goodbye with a sweet acoustic serenade.

Film Reel Of The Brave Empire State Building Window Washers

(YouTube Link)

This film reel from the British Pathe digital archive is called Panefull Business, and it showcases the brave window cleaners who kept the Empire State Building nice and shiny circa 1938.

It'll make you appreciate your day job, unless you're an adrenaline junky and would enjoy hanging around 1200 feet above the ground all day!

Super Mario Mushroom Case Mod

Case modding machine and Etsy seller 8BitBuilder created this cool Super Mario themed Mushroom PC tower case mod, and it can be yours for the low price of $1600 American. If that price seems waaay out of reach, don't worry! You can make your own case mod with several hundred little wooden cubes, lots of wood glue, some paint and a couple of weeks to spare putting this bad boy together. I'm pretty sure the price is so high because it comes complete with built-in PC, but I still think it would make a better DIY project than an outright purchase. Link  --via Nerd Approved

Dual Purpose Shopping Bag And Emergency Helmet

(YouTube Link)

Usually when people tell you to put a bag over your head, it's an insult. But this bag was made to wear over your head in an emergency situation, and it might save your life if an earthquake hits while you're out shopping.

The Grappa was created with the thought that most people carry reusable bags now when they do their shopping, and if an emergency situation should arise you'll probably have one close at hand.

It has a hard plastic bottom and mesh sides, so your head is protected from falling debris while the side mesh helps filter out particles in the air.

I don't think I'd feel very safe with such a flimsy source of protection on my head, but it's really more of a concept design than the ultimate safety gear, and I can't wait to see what kind of safety functions are built into everyday items in the future.

A Giant Spider Prepares To Dine On A Snake

(YouTube Link)

Budding naturalists should take note of what this video demonstrates-a spider's killer instinct shouldn't be taken for granted, and they'll gladly wrap up a meal that may take them a month to polish off just for the sake of convenience.

Please note that you shouldn't put your hand anywhere near those big old spiders you see as you're traipsing through the jungle, because spiders don't take kindly to tomfoolery!

And if you're feeling for the snake right about now just think of it like this-he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and got caught up in the never ending gang war we call the food chain.

This Pokemon Trading Card Costume Gets A +10 For Cuteness

Don Schwabs has committed an extremely original act of nerdery by wearing this adorable Pokemon trading card game costume to Melbourne's Supanova Pop Cultcha Expo.

If you see Don walking around at a Con near you give him a high five for me, and tell him not to get all bent out of shape if I slip on my Mewtwo card costume and put the smack down on his Pikachu card based on hit points alone.

When lives are at stake in a very human version of the Pokemon card game, some players were born to lose. Don was born to be the face of Pikachu.

Holy Musical B@tman! Is Taking Gotham City By Storm

(YouTube Link)

If you like your musicals cheesy and superhero themed, then you're gonna love Holy Musical B@tman, an extremely entertaining show from Team Starkid that features catchy tunes, goofy villains and an Underoos clad Batman with a heart full of vengeance.

Loosely based on Tim Burton's version of the Caped Crusader, it's darkly comedic musical theater at its finest,  and you can watch the whole thing, ten minutes at a time, for free on the YouTubes.

The Cute Yet Creepy Dental Doraemon Plush

Want to teach your kids about dental hygiene and give them nightmares at the same time? Then you need the Dental Doraemon plush, which comes complete with a set of choppers to help kids practice proper brushing and flossing techniques.

This is the first time I've seen Doraemon and his sister Dorami-chan with teeth, and I think I liked them better without the pearly whites.

The Ghost Army Of WWII Known As FUSAG

The era surrounding World War II was such a rich period of history that it's no wonder many facts simply slipped under the radar, only to be discovered by historians decades later.

The story of the FUSAG is one which escaped the mainstream annals of history, due in part to the secretive nature of the operation.

Known as the Ghost Army, the FUSAG was a phantom Army Group used to draw the Nazis off the trail of other invasion plans which had been set into motion.

Here's more on the ultimate bluff:
The Allied intelligence services created two fake armies to keep the Germans on their toes. One would be based in Scotland for a supposed invasion of Norway and the other headquartered in southeast England to threaten the Pas-de-Calais.

The northern operation relied mainly on fake radio traffic and the feeding of false information to double agents to create the impression of a substantial army. Fortitude South, though, was well within the range of prying German ears and eyes, so fake chatter alone would be uncovered too quickly.

The Allies would have to make it look and sound like a substantial army was building up in southeast England. They needed boots on the ground there, without actually using too much of their precious manpower.

When intelligence officers learned that the First U.S. Army Group (FUSAG) was to be redesignated the 12th Army Group, they knew they had their Pas-de-Calais invaders. The FUSAG was kept alive on paper, and the phantom army was given a few real soldiers and placed under the command of one of the era’s great military leaders.

The Hyrax Sings In A Regional Dialect

The adorable little critters known as hyrax may look like they don't have a lot going on in their tiny little heads, but it turns out they are master communicators who use a complex language complete with regional dialects.

Here's how their masterful use of language was discovered:
By recording hundreds of the animals’ songs and applying clever mathematics, researchers discovered that differences in note arrangement, or syntax, in hyrax songs vary as the distance increases between colonies — a surprising occurrence of dialect.

“Dialect is usually seen only in animals with sophisticated vocalizations, like primates, bats and cetaceans. Such animals can copy and improvise on what they hear, which are very, very core building blocks of language,” said zoologist Arik Kershenbaum at the University of Haifa in Israel.

“It’s not obvious to human ears, but hyraxes also appear to have these building blocks,” said Kershenbaum, who co-authored the study of hyrax songs Apr. 18 in Proceedings of the Royal Society B.

So, the next time you spot one of these fuzzy little critters, you'll know that they're much more than an oversized rodent, and may be talking about you behind your back!

The Fire Breathing Robotic Sculptures Of Yanobe Kenji

These robotic monstrosities were created by Japanese artist and supervillain Yanobe Kenji, who clearly plans on using his mechanical marvels to take over the world.

Employing cuteness and likeability to put the human population at ease, these fire breathing robots are hell bent on becoming our new metal overlords. They've even taken to the sea, to ensure that nobody escapes unsinged.

Oh wait, I'm receiving a message that they're actually just a collection of freaking amazing metal sculptures by artist Yanobe Kenji, so I guess that freaky helmet and spandex getup I saw Yanobe in last week was just something he wears when he's working. My mistake!
