What lucky people to have enjoyed that painting on their wall for all those many years! It's a lovely portrait. I won't be surprised if some fat cat buys that painting and it will disappear, again from the world.
My kids loved those playhouses which were germ traps. One time my kids went into one of those crawl tubes and suddenly exited it because some kid had left poop streaks all through the tube. I pitied the poor person that had to clean up that mess and I'm certain that type of incident must have been pretty common back then. Those playhouses were perfect breeding grounds for all sorts of diseases. I, for one, am glad they are gone. Looking back on how infectious those playhouses were and now with us dealing with Covid it sort of boggles the mind to even remember how acceptably germy those things were.
My dad was a master beekeeper and president of SEMBA off and on for years. He and my mother would put a drop of honey in their eyes "to prevent cataracts". It was a German custom that he'd found in a book about bees and their honey. Well, I was stupid enough to try it and had a severe allergic reaction and ended up in the hospital with strips of tissue from my eye sloughing off and the center of the eyeball pressing inward which made the white part of the eye swell and continue to leak tissue from my eye. 8 hours later and several bags of saline slowly leaked onto my eye and liquid benadryl in an iv I got to go home with no lasting effects. So, boys and girls, do NOT put honey in your eyes! I'm terrified of shampoos, conditioners and facial cleansers that have honey in them in case they get in my eyes.
When I lived in Louisiana for 10 years I got introduced to fire ants the first month there. I went to look at purchasing a shed for my property and the sheds were on this really big lot and while I was looking at the outside of a shed my feet started burning. Looking down I saw the entire tops of my feet covered in fire ants because I unknowingly was standing on their ant hill. Many stings covered my feet and the blisters become like hard white rocks and scarring is very common on lots of people in Louisiana. 2 years before we decided to move away from Louisiana we started getting 'crazy ants' in our area. I watched a bunch of them attack the fire ants and my yard became free from fire ants. I never thought that would be possible. Our next door neighbor came by asking about those ants. They run every which way, not in a single file and they really dislike fire ants. I hope they flourish down there because they don't bother people.
Ok, I have an iMac, Retina 5K 27 inch, 2017Processor 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5. Graphics Radeon Pro 570 4 GB Memory 8GB 2400 MHz DDR4 macOS Ventura 13.6.3 Sorry, it's not a 2019 but it works perfectly for me. Does that help?
I bought my Mac Ventura about 5 years ago. It has a huge screen like a regular flat screen tv. Never had a smidge of trouble with it. I'm sorry you've not been as fortunate. Windows is always waiting for people like you. Best of luck to you with the computer of your choice.
When Mac came on the market my dad was right there ready to get one. Over the years he kept buying them and then having someone "improve" it with installations. I would get his old Macs when he bought a new one. I love Macs, never had many issues or problems with mine. I've had other brands with Windows and never liked them. I'm a Mac girl until I die.
My grandparents came to America in the 1910's and were processed through Ellis Island and their name was changed from MacNaughton to MacNaught. Got any explanation of that??
On my 3rd birthday I got an enormous box filled with cake and cookie mixes. About half the size of Jiffy mixes. It also came with mixing bowls, cookie sheets, spoons and other utensils. My mother and grandmother taught me how to cook with a real oven so when the light bulb oven came out it had no appeal to me.
troll booth that 'Safe baby handling tips' was too funny. It reminds me of the holiday joke boxes that had fake advertising them with ads like gerbil like water bottle feeders for babies and as a bonus you get the weekender stew in a bag to teach baby how to chew food so you can take weekend vacations while leaving baby at home or Bacon scented fabric softener sheets. That one is surprisingly popular. Thanks for the laughs!
Wish I'd had that thing when the neighbor's baby started squalling. Actually, I could see kids launching their dolls across the room but please hide the puppies and kittens! FYI a seat belt would be pretty handy with this thing.
