Yeah, very well described. As a Realtor, I can vouch for the whole darkness at the end. Strange that two short years ago we were so busy, and now it's like a funeral home out there. One thing that they left out, because it's a touchy issue, is the government requirements of a certain percentage of minority families getting loans, which added fuel to the sub-primes.
This would be a good time to remind everyone that 99.5% of all species that have ever lived are extinct. Still, there's no excuse for d-baggery like this.
I always get a kick out of cars covered with stuff. There's a guy in town who drives around in his Lincoln all tricked out with every toy, action figure, and fun little doo-dad he's ever acquired.
That beat the huge and boring record holder that inserted a glut of words into "A man, a plan, a canal...Panama!" I love the centerpiece, "Be still if I fill it's ebb."
Julian Beever's been blowing minds with this technique for many years. I don't know about this guy, but what Julian creates, he photographs extensively, then washes it away.
One aspect that is starting to rise in Washington state is the law of Adverse Possession. Property owners are losing some of their land due to squatters, who basically take possession of any land they hang out on, as long as it goes uncontested for 8-10 years. It's not feudalism, it's rage. Justifiable Rage.
Wow, the two nearest me made the list. Snoqualmie Falls has a hotel right next to it, and the atmosphere is amazing. Multnomah Falls has, as seen in the photo, a bridge you can hike to and just be at one with the water. Another steep hike and you're on top of the falls.
+10, Demetri.
