Comedian and late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had a great idea. He asked viewers to play a simple prank on people in their lives: offer them coffee, then say “April Fools” or “I did nothing to your coffee.”
This immediately raises suspicions. “What did you do to my coffee?!”
Absolutely nothing.

There’s a pile of pancakes that look like a Chanel bag, grilled cheese sandwiches that look like a Prada purse, and a fancy Louis Vuitton baguette. They’re Bread Bags, a new project by artist Chloe Wise. They look good enough to eat, but no amount of real syrup will make these hotcakes edible. They’re made of oil paint, urethane, and metal attachments.

A young child may not be ready to watch Game of Thrones. If you’re under the age of 50, it could be psychologically damaging because the story is so disturbing. For such younger audiences, there are children’s book versions. Monique Steele of BuzzFeed photoshopped 7 covers of famous children’s books to give them Game of Thrones content.

Rafaela, Rochele, and Tagiane Bini live in Passo Fundo, Riuo Grande do Sul, Brazil. All three sisters got married at the same time in a joint ceremony. They married three men who are not related. The brides wore identical dresses and had the same hair and makeup styles. The most obvious differences were the bouquets. Sometimes even their grooms get them confused. The Daily Mail reports:
Rafael, who married Rafaela, told how the girls sometimes deliberately confused their fiances.
He remembered: 'There was a time when we were all in the kitchen making dinner. So Rochele, who is Gabriel's, was doing stuff at the sink, and Rafaela was at the stove.
'We were there chatting and they changed places. I went behind to hug her, and said "oops" when I realised I'd got the wrong girl.'
On the day, though, the men insisted they didn't have a problem recognising the loves of their lives.
'Oh yes, I knew which one was mine, for sure. I knew as soon as she entered the church, she was the most beautiful,' said Eduardo, who married Tagiane.

Shae-Lee Shackleford, Lana Kington, and Madison Lloyd are SketchShe, a comedy troupe in Australia. In a funny and well-produced video, they lip sync top songs since the 1940s, changing costumes every few seconds. It’s really well-made and performed. They do everything including “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by The Andrews Sisters (1941), “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana (1991), and “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus (2013).
Shawn-Marie and Adam operate Love and Water Photography, a studio in Maui, Hawaii. They've developed a unique specialty: underwater engagement shoots. The photographers capture tender moments as the couples swim underwater, lovingly embracing and kissing. They're simply beautiful.

Christine Royles, 23, of South Portland, Maine needed a kidney. She took a spot on the national waiting list for a donor kidney, which is over 100,000 patients long. The odds were bad, so in an act of desperation, she wrote a message on the back of her car asking for a kidney.
Ashley Dall-Leighton saw it and responded immediately. The Portland Press Herald quotes her:
“I looked over,” says Ashley Dall-Leighton, “and I go, ‘Oh, my God, that’s the saddest thing I’ve ever read.’ And he’s like, ‘What?’ And I read it out loud, and he said, ‘Did you get the number? Text her right now.'”
It looks like a fried egg and French fries. But it's not. Redditor dwimback's breakfast is actually yogurt, a canned peach, and apple slices.
Which would also taste good.

In 2009, brothers Alexander and Vitaly Drozdov walked along the banks of the Maza Jugla River in Latvia. They saw two swans lying in the river, hopelessly tangled around each other’s necks and wings. It was a really bizarre sight. The swans swam toward them as if they hoped that the humans can help them.
The Drozdovs carefully untangled them and set them free. You can see it at the 3:10 mark in the video.
This video has gone viral in the past couple weeks. It leads to an obvious question: how the did these swans get wrapped around each other so much that they could not physically separate themselves? Turn to National Geographic for an answer. It interviewed Brian K. Schmidt, a bird expert at the Smithsonian. Schmidt says that these were probably two male swans who fought each other for territory:
This is the first time I have seen this, but I'm sure it does happen on occasion. [It's] similar to deer getting their antlers entangled."
The swans' neck fighting, coupled with hitting each other, caused them to get stuck.
Mute swan battles are rarely fatal but can be quite violent, nonetheless.
"If the intruder doesn't back down, it goes to a face-off with the birds striking each other with their wings and entangling their necks and biting each other," he says.

UKTV conducted a poll and determined that Benedict Cumberbatch is Britain's yummiest actor. So it commissioned chocolatiers to build this life-size sculpture of the Sherlock and Star Trek Into Darkness star. It consists of over 88 pounds of Belgian chocolate, which is about 33% cocoa. It took about 250 hours of work and the results are truly drool-worthy. You can see more photos of it at BuzzFeed.
Once she was a big star--a hero who saved the world many times and fought alongside other famous heroes, including Superman and Batman. But Wonder Woman grew old and gradually lost her powers. Now she's Retired Wonder Woman, a performer at fan conventions.
Wonder Woman is not in good health. Part of that comes from some bad habits, particularly her chain smoking. She now has to walk with a cane. But she gets along pretty well for her age and is available for hired appearances.

Bertrand “Bud” Gearhart (R-CA) was a member of the US House of Representatives from 1935-1949. In the early years of the Cold War, he was concerned about Soviet international ambitions, especially as the French and British empires receded. He thought it prudent that American strength should reach out to confront the Soviets. Gearhart was particularly concerned about the north Atlantic. So, in 1947, he introduced a bill in the House of Representatives that would seek to purchase Greenland from Denmark and offer statehood to Iceland, which had been an independent nation for nearly 3 years. An Associated Press report from that time quotes him:
“Americans must give thought to the ramparts we watch, not merely to the ramparts we once watched,” Gearhart declared in the house. “It is time we give some consideration to the ever avaricious outside world.”
“With Russia extending herself in all directions and England and France clinging tenaciously to their respective empires,” Gearhart added, the islands should be acquired to ensure the defense of the U.S. and possessions “before the last flicker of gratitude among our erstwhile allies dies out.”
I can find no evidence that the House passed the bill.

It’s called chainsaw ice skating and Erik Sunnerheim is a master of it. A chainsaw smoothly chews through the ice of a frozen lake, pulling him rapidly over it.
This would make a great addition to ice hockey! Players could alternate the use of their chainsaws for propulsion and as hockey sticks. Or they could each hold a chainsaw in one hand and a hockey stick in the other. Let’s try it! Here, hold my beer.

The bold and brassy Jayne Cobb from Firefly famously wore a ridiculous orange beanie hat because “a man walks down the street in that hat--people know he's not afraid of anything.” Jayne would have done better to wear this crocheted dress by cosplayer Laura of Rebel Among The Stars. She plans to wear it to the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.
You may remember a previous work by Laura that we’ve featured. She once made a full-length dress that looks like the Fourth Doctor’s scarf.
