Victim Gets Revenge on Milk Thief by Peeing in the Bottle

Damon Hudson of St. Ives, Cornwall, UK, gets home milk delivery. But lately, in the morning, he's found that his milk has been stolen. To fight back, he recently took the milk immediately after it was delivered at 4 AM. Then he peed added fish oil and his own urine before placing it back outside. The thief predictably showed up and took the bottle, which Hudson recorded on a security camera.

The Cats at This Animal Shelter Have the Weirdest Names

Austin Pets Alive is a no-kill animal shelter for dogs and cats in Austin, Texas. The cats there have the most delightfully odd names. Oh, I'm not blaming the staff at all. They can't help it if the cats offer fake names when they sign up for the program -- their noms de guerre. I'm especially curious about one named The Librarian.

A Beautiful Stained Glass Guitar Lamp

Redditor stainedglassyorkshir made this amazing stained glass lamp in the body of a guitar. The swirling floral circles fit neatly around the area where the sound hole would have been. I suspect that other instruments would work well for this kind of project, such as a base violin or the mouth of a tuba.

Vacationers Find Alligator on Alligator Pool Float

The Jacobs family rented an Airbnb home in South Miami for their vacation. When they arrived, they found a beautiful pool with an alligator pool float in it . . . and an alligator on the float! The Miami New Times quoted the best response:

"My daughter, who’s 14, was like, 'Dad, this is soooo meta,'" Jacobs tells New Times.

Indeed it was. The family contacted the owner of the home, who then called wildlife management authorities. An alligator wrangler captured the alligator and removed it. The alligator then probably left a negative review on Airbnb.

3D Printed Versions of Famous Internet Cats and Dogs

Japanese artist Meetissi 3D prints detailed models of the Internet's most famous dogs and cats, such as this cubical cat. Most especially impressive are Meetissi's models of cats and dogs that have been photographed in motion and then left permanently in that state through the 3D printer.

Only in Texas: High School Varsity Barbecue Teams

Barbecue is a high art form in Texas, having been practiced and refined by lauded masters for generations. Only the most diligent, gifted, and dedicated of practitioners can become pitmasters. Ennis High School in Ennis, Texas wants its students to accomplish greatness, which is why it is one of several high schools the state to operate a varsity-level barbecue team. WFAA reports:

Horticulture teacher Tommy Copeland helped start his team at EHS after discovering an annual state tournament in Burnet where over 100 schools compete. “When we tell people about it, they’re in disbelief at first,” Copeland said. “Then they say, ‘Wow, I wish that was around when I was in school--I would have been on that team,’” he said with a laugh.
At Ennis High, the barbecue team is like a Texas hybrid of metal shop and home economics. The students fabricate and weld their own cooker together then use it to compete.
Copeland and other vocational teachers assist the students in learning how to be pitmasters. Teachers or instructors aren’t allowed to help students during cook-offs, and they’re judged on best beef brisket, pork ribs, ½ chicken, best beans, dessert, best pit, most school spirit, and best t-shirt.

Man Trying to Sell His Daily Commuting Vehicle--An Oscar Mayer Weinermobile

The Craigslist seller outside of Bakersfield, California had bought the replica Oscar Mayer Weinermobile for fun. He used it as his everyday transportation. That was fun for a little while. But no longer:

The Weinermobile as a daily driver was a novelty and enjoyable for about a week. Now I suffer.

How much has he suffered? Enough to get the odometer up to 110,400 miles.

Woman Coats Car with Poop to Keep It Cool

In Ahmedabad, India, temperatures are reaching 113°F. That's too much for a car's air conditioner to combat. So according to some guy on Facebook (let's be clear about how well this story is sourced), a local woman smeared cow poop all over her car to insulate it from the heat.

It's not that hot in Texas yet. But it will be within a month. And we have plenty of cows in the area. So I guess I should get to work verifying this hack, especially as I'm driving my wife's car today.

Fire Rainbow Spotted over New Jersey

Packy McCormick photographed this fire rainbow over the Jersey Shore during the Memorial Day weekend. It glides over the appropriately named borough of Avalon. NBC New York describes the rare meteorological conditions that create this phenomenon:

The optical phenomenon only happens when the sun is higher than 58° above the horizon and its light passes through high-up cirrus clouds made up of plate-shaped ice crystals, according to the University of California geography department.
In its full form, the ice halo will appear as a large, colorful band running parallel to the horizon. Despite its common name "fire rainbow," the phenomenon is not a rainbow nor fire.

Preschoolers Sing the Star Wars "Imperial March" instead of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"

Have you ever practiced and practiced for a public performance, only to forget what you were supposed to do when it was time for the show?

These kids did. They were supposed to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." But, like adorable little Sith apprentices, they set upon the "Imperial March" when their memories failed them. Gina Gibson, the mother of one of these boys, recorded the video.

These Tattoos Look Like Embroidered Patches

Eduardo "Duda" Lozano, a tattoo artist in São Paulo, Brazil, is so good at his craft that he can render photo-realistic tattoos that look exactly like embroidered patches. They even have loose threads! In an interview with Tattoo Life, he described his style:

Long ago I had already worked with logos creation for caps and embroidered shirts, but the tattoo inspiration came soon. I always tried to do something to differentiate myself from so many artists and this was the moment when I remembered the time I worked with embroidery. Yeah, I think I could find the differential!

You can see many more of Lozano's tattoos on his Instagram page.

Does This Driftwood Look Like a Nude Woman?

That's what hikers in Colonsay, Scotland think. They've dubbed this piece of driftwood the Lady of Balnahad. She rests on a remote area of a small island in the Inner Hebrides. The local residents say this is exactly how they found her, aside from adding "a strategic piece of seaweed."

We can only assume that the faerie folk struck her down for her vanity. Now she is cursed to shriek for all eternity inside her hollow wooden form, unable to flaunt her beauty before the islanders, as she did in ancient times.

Hardware Store Employees Build a Free Walker for a Toddler

Logan of Cedartown, Georgia has hypotonia, a muscular disorder. It's very difficult for him to walk. His family's medical insurance doesn't cover a walker, so they decided to build one of their own. They went to their local Home Depot hardware store for the necessary components. When the employees there heard what the family was trying to do, they leaped into action. 5 News reports:

“My store manager heard about this and we went over to them looked at their plans and said we got this so we started putting it together told the family to go and enjoy ice cream and come back in a hour,” Jeffrey Anderson said. “Other associates started jumping in and when the family came back it was done.”
In no time, the boy was wheeling around the store with a huge smile on his face.
“Everyone was crying to see Logan walk around with the biggest smile on his face and when the family tried to pay us we said, ‘No way this one is on us,'” Anderson said.

Soccer Player Scores "Butt Goal"

Calek Doktor of Western Christian High School and Iowa drove the ball straight into the goal of Missouri Valley. His buttslam was perfectly executed!

If this was a movie, it would be the winning goal in the final seconds of a championship game. But in this case, it was one of only many goals that Western Christian scored against Missouri Valley in the 10-1 game.

Emergency Equipment for Everyday Life

Artist Ben Fearnley understands.

Not every emergency requires a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, or a fire axe. But that doesn't make your problem anything less than an emergency. So he designed safety equipment that people need to cope with the challenges of daily life, including donuts, pizza, and wine. You can see more photos at Behance.
