Wait, now I realize that you mean the veterinary bills. They did sometimes. Hyzenthlay had cancer and the amputation of her cancerous foot was pricey. We had a couple injuries that required x-rays and occasional respiratory infections. They both needed periodic tooth trimmings (rabbit teeth grow continuously).
It was fun and I loved them. But the older I get, the more I see pets as an extra expense and source of stress that I could live without.
