I have fond memories of playing wiffle ball on our street with other kids from the neighborhood. We used an old wooden baseball bat that was split in half. Could use either the flat side or the round side depending on what you wanted to do. Fun times. AND-it cut down on broken windows.

Excellent PET (Photo Essay Thread). Reminds me of the old NY State Fair on steroids. One thing missing on the midway is the Girlie Show, Maybe too PC for this day and age? Thanks for the effort.

Don't overdo a potato either. Once, MrsO put some potatoes in our first microwave to bake. She accidentally set it for 50 minutes and forgot about it until flames lit up the inside of the oven. Once the water content had evaporated, the potato went into ignition mode. Lesson learned the hard way.

From the photos, Streep/Thatcher is pretty much spot on. Some of the others are decent. Don't think anyone can look like a young Elizabeth Taylor, my crush as a young boy.

Not to mention how they are formed from the reproductive structures of their respective parent plants and their purpose in the life cycle of plants. Both contain or are designed to contain seeds. Both have an amount of fruit sugar in them. Both are propagated in orchards by grafting. I guess oranges have an advantage as they are also the name of a color.

That's wild. Back when I was working in entomology research at Cornell I had to go to a USFS facility in Connecticut and transport about 50 Asian Long Horn Beetles back to our lab. Couldn't imagine having to work with bees.

Why? Why not Elizabethan Olde English? While I'm on it. Why did they need those code talkers in the Pacific in WW2. Wouldn't it have been easier to just pull together a group of Italian-Americans or Polish-Americans who spoke their parent's language? Seems to me it would have confounded the Japanese troops on those islands just as well.
