My mother says that she used to be the same age a Elizabeth Taylor but was five years older when she died. Apparently Taylor lied about her age to get around child labor rules, at some point used her real age and later tried to appear younger.

Cross country trains will never come back: we are too big. The difference between Europeans and Americans is that American think 200 years is a long time while Europeans think 200 miles is a long distance.
Commuter trains, on the other hand can be wonderful. Unfortunately, unless you are going to/from a city center, they do little good.

Not sure if this is available everywhere, but the best option for new vehicles is to find an automobile broker. The one I use get better deals than a dealership on both the price and the financing. As well, there is no pressure. When you know the car you want, make a phone call and pick it up in a couple of days.
