Beauty is one of the luckiest bald eagles alive today, because not only has she survived being shot in the face by poachers, she now sports a very chic, very modern 3d printed beak for her chewing pleasure.
The good folks at the Birds Of Prey Northwest sanctuary never gave up on Beauty, determined to do whatever they can for her instead of resorting to euthanasia.

Raptor specialist Jane Fink Cantwell, who dresses like Indiana Jones, refused to take "dead bald eagle" for an answer. She joined forces with mechanical engineer Nate Calvin of Kinetic Engineering Group, and together with other scientists, engineers, and even a dentist, they designed a nylon polymer beak that would perfectly replace Beauty's lost upper mandible.
Calvin developed the new beak using a 3-D modeling program, then used a 3-D printer to fabricate it. After an arduous procedure to attach her prosthetic, Beauty was able to eat, drink, and preen herself on her own.

It's like Apollo 13 all over again! When astronauts Sunita Williams and Akihido Hoshide encountered a "sticky" bolt outside the International Space Station, they realized needed a tool to clean it. Problem was, the nearest hardware store is about 200 miles down ...
What to do if there is no hardware store in the neighborhood and the next supply ship is months away? Build it yourself -- so they attached a simple toothbrush to a metal pole and voila! They were able to clean out the bolt's socket today and finish the job. Shades of Apollo 13 -- when engineers threw parts on a table and brainstormed a solution, which saved the crew.

For the essentials: this is a Philippine action movie starring the midget novelty celebrity named Weng Weng as Secret Agent OO (yes, Double O). It sounds like a comedy but what makes it great is that IT’S NOT! It’s played seriously and features Weng Weng using firearms and fancy gadgets like James Bond, engaging in martial arts fights like Bruce Lee, drooling over regular-sized women like Herve Villaichez, sword- fighting as skillfully as Zatoichi and sporting a poorly- concealed bald spot like Ryen Russillo.

Dirty Laundry, starring Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman, is the greatest Punisher fan film ever, and possibly the best fan film in any franchise I've ever seen. Watch it now.
