Very interesting indeed. Maybe the current federal administration can rescind the tips are income statute, and hard working service people can go back to making a decent living.
Balderdash. And I'm left handed and was taught to write like a righty in mirror image. The first ball points were horrible. Crappy purple ink and leaked. Not fit for school work. Love the newer pens. Best for crossword puzzles on newsprint.
I guess that information is based on a normal functioning gas tank gauge. My first new car, 1963 Dodge Dart GT, I was driving and the gauge read 1/4 full when I ran out of gas. To this day I seldom let my car go w/o filling when it gets to around 1/4 full. My newest vehicle, 2010 Hyundai, has a reading that estimates how many miles you can go. I don't even trust that.
I taught high school biology and health for 32 years, most of it in a small central NY city. I lived there for another 7 years after I retired. I got to see many of my former students and their successes. I even became friends with some of them, easy to do in a small community. I think the student should contact the former teacher if they can. We really appreciate any feed back on our careers.
The stairwell one reminded me of when I was stringing drywall in our stairwell back north. However, I put up a temporary scaffolding. No way would I do what that guy is doing.
There was a high level college football coach who "padded" his resume and got caught. Makes you wonder how many people actually get away with it. Remember the story "Catch Me If You Can" and others?
Tempus fugit and sadly some things pass on. It's not just the Masons, but most fraternal organizations and even Vet's groups are in decline. The younger generations do not seem to have any interest in them. My Dad was in the Masons and was Master of his Lodge. I belong to the Elks and was Exalted Ruler of my lodge in 1989. They all provided some sort of communal fellowship that I think is lacking these days.
Funny you mention that. I learned a while back that in Ontario Canada, that is used to "test" older folks who wish to renew their driver's license. Wondered if someone just drew boxes with numbers in them would pass.
