In some places they are set as to be speed traps. A couple places in Florida are infamous for that. Other issues happens when an old country road becomes a busy area of commerce and the speed limit isn't reduced but should be. My favorite is when we were going to a wedding in Toronto. After crossing the border we got on to the QEW. I see a sign that says "SPEED LIMIT 100", wow. I think why bother with a speed limit at all, then I realize they must have changed to metric. Sure enough, the next sign I see is KILOMETERS. My brother in law told me the change over was done by sticking paste on signs over the old MPH signs until they were replaced with permanent signs. I'm glad we . never did that here.

I have a neighbor who when she bought the house, the property listing vanished from the county real estate rolls. I think she is in some sort of witness protection thing.

The stores that sold TV's put them in a window so passersby could see them. I remember the first one on our street and they put theirs in a front window. My great grandfather of all people was the first one in my family to get one so he could watch baseball games.

Time sure have changed. FSW (Florida Southwestern College)where I work on the event staff has a mascot, Blackbeard the Pirate, that puts on some moves. We need a dance team, though.

Reminds me of one winter at the U of Maine when we had a freezing rain. The Stillwater River that flows from the college to Orono was covered with ice as smooth as glass. We put on our skates and skated dow to Pat's Pizza in Orono for pizza and beers. Cool.

Always told their story in biology class when we covered human genetics. Did not know about the back story. The "Two Jims" is another one.

I watched that and was trying to figure who is "crazier", the snowboarders or the lugers. I guess it has to be the snowboarders for all those wild flips and stuff.

Reminds me of the guy who was on the old SteveAllen show that ate just about anything. If memory serves me, one time Steve gave him a set of keys and he ate them.
Steve did many funny bits. The "Answer Man" which was probably an old vaudeville act was an earlier version of Carson's Carnac. Steve pretty much steered away from any political topics. Wish the so-called comics of today would do the same and just be funny.

We usually eat out only on Sundays, a no-cook day for Mrs.O. We'll do breakfast after our 8 AM church service and one more dinner meal later around 3 PM. I have no problem with the "early bird" concept, but really don't get it often.
