Thank You!!!! I absolutely ADORED this when I was a kid! Growing up in Canada, we saw all kinds of these NFB (Nat'l Film Board) cartoons. The one of "The Old Lady Who Swallowed The Fly" is particularly brilliant. Our school would show movies and cartoons in the music room on rain/snow lunch hours, and "The Old Lady" was always a big hit. One teacher would always leave the projector lamp on when he rewound the film reel for next viewing, and believe me: watching it backwards at high speed would reduce the entire roomful of kids - and teachers - to gasping, side-clutching laughter.
I love the guy in the sedan who comes out, looks at the SUV like "what the HELL are you doing?", jumps in his car and casually backs out & pulls away in one smooth move while the dumbass in the SUV is still backing and forth-ing. Makes you wonder how some people actually manage to get a license in the first place!
Can't remember what decade it's from, but I definitely recall a poster of "Bibi", the Michelin Man, stealing away with a scantily-clad maiden tossed over his shoulder - some kind of reference to the barbarians that overran Europe in the old days, from what I remember. Viva los old days!
Absolutely heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. This man deserves a place in whatever anyone's conception of heaven/nirvana/whatever is, if ANYone does.
Some of these look like he literally scanned a bunch of Roger Dean's covers, cropped a few elements out of each one and then collaged them together.
And the red beach balls? C'mon - we've all heard of Hipgnosis.
and dreamed of the way that I was for you and you were for me.
And we longed to dance the night away..."
