Dont want to burst any bubbles,
but this has allready been done many times, many years ago..
(sorry can't be arsed to find any links)
And the code for solving rubics cubes has been around (and open source) even longer.. (and is surprizingly simple)
just google for
"rubik's solver" (with "lego" or "code")
pretty elegant bot this guy build tho'.. =]

Anybody that would like this realistic version of batman I advise to buy "Arkham Asylum" by Dave mc Kean.
Not only a very well written story about batman being lured into the asylum by the joker and allmost losing his own mind, but also one of the most beautifull "comics" I own..

Eggs are a good example.
they stay ok WAY longer than the exp date (especially if you keep them in the fridge)
and IF they go off, you will smell it right away.
even if you've never smelled a rotten egg before, believe me, you WILL know =]

Oh, and I eat rotten grapes (hmm alcohol)
actually most fruit is pretty good when it goes off before it molds
and I cut the mold of cheese, the cheese is fine.
the only things really dangerous (read: will make you sick for a while) is meat, but when its really off you WILL smell it.
And when in doubt just fry it extra hard, no problem.
