Spotted the very same Macroglossum Stellatarum as shown above, hovering above my Carnations it stayed long enough for me to fetch my camera & take a dozen pics, I understand it is common in sunnier climes around Europe...but I live on the West Coast of Ireland!Great for flying a Kite but not sun bathing! Is this yet more evidence of Global Warming?
If I can see these delightfull little creatures on a regular basis, I sure hope so
