What if the fruit of the garden was the product of Chaos and Order , the eventuality of growth, or more clearly to say the inevitability of progress. The fruit was our modern consciousness, the capacity of evil and within it the knowledge to choose a path towards god, order and greater, more-artistically fashioned complexity or towards the devil, chaos and descent into the fear of not having what you wish. You see, the taking of the fruit and the whole bible is only a symbolic chronology. I would argue that to reach for the fruit is in our nature, the essence of desire is rooted in the knowledge that you do not have what you cannot touch and what you cannot touch that is alluring and unreachable, you must touch. Even if it takes an eternity.

The fruit and adam and eve are the mutation of higher-consciousness and the eventuality of many paths of evolution converging on a significant threshold at which functional patterns in behavioral morphology within the context of the species began to act autonomously from the influence of genetic inflection.
