I lead a non profit based in Chicago and use maps to show where poverty and poorly performing schools are most concentrated, and where existing non-school tutor/mentor programs are located. My goal is that the maps draw more distributed resources to all of the neighborhoods with high poverty, resulting in more comprehensive programs for youth in these areas. Do you know of anyone who is duplicating the map of science project, by mapping the research that's been created about poverty, racism, and education deficits in America? Such an aggregation of information might help us connect more people from beyond poverty with kids and tutor/mentor programs in poverty areas.
