Same for me, ate real cheese as a kid, "fake" cheese grossed me out. Box mac and cheese, velveeta, single cheese slices, liquid nacho cheese.

Goldfish especially on the ammonia, they are little ammonia machines. Bettas aren't so bad, so they do ok with regular water changes. But as always, you should always try to give ANY fish you have the best environment you can, and filtration is always better than changing the water.

Boomslang? Can I get some of its skin? My lacewing flies are almost done boiling...

Even bettas should go in something larger than this. It's pretty tricky to heat a bowl this small properly, and yes, bettas need heated water, they are tropical fish.
