Can I just point out that Princeton Theological Seminary is NOT part of Princeton University? So she's not a Princeton professor.

I should also say how many management skills are LEARNED while playing. He had no management experience, only gaming experience, when he and his buddies founded the guild. He knows quite a bit now.

My husband is the guildmaster of his guild in World of Warcraft, and you'd be surprised how much management skills come in handy. I AM a manager in real life, and many of his guild problems are similar to problems I've had with the staff I oversee or work with.

I can certainly see the relevance here.

Some grocery stores will buy their produce from local farms. I've gone into Superfresh and seen signs advertising Jersey Fresh, and showing which farms the produce is from. I'll still buy some fruits and veggies from the farmer's market, but it's nice to know I'm supporting the locals regardless.

While I find the criticism easier to believe than the evidence, if the LoC says it's Lincoln, then I'll certainly believe. Good luck, Ivan.

I really see those profiles as a kind of guestbook that doesn't expire. A dear friend died two years ago, and writing on his wall was cathartic. Sometimes I'll post when I think of him. It's nice to still have a small connection.

I did however get annoyed when Facebook kept telling me to say hi to him.

Robin, I don't think they're mutually exclusive, nor do I think that was his intention. He was just explaining why he didn't run away with $3,600 in cash.

I'll be the Grammar Nazi, though, and protest "has got." Maybe just "posted" would be better. :-P

When I went to Paris with my parents about 12 years ago, we quickly discovered that we were treated better when my dad tried to speak to them in French, despite the fact that he learned French in college and hadn't used it since. If we assumed they spoke English, we got an attitude. But if we tried our very crappy French, they weren't bad at all.

I don't think the "Take a bit of exercise and get them yourself" quoted above is anywhere near necessary, though.

I could see this being useful in more urban areas. I can't count the number of times I've been (a safe distance) behind a truck and it blocks my view of the traffic light ahead.

I fly a lot for business and generally don't have bad experiences (and for those who complain about security, just be prepared. Take off your belt and shoes, stick your cell in your travel bag, take out your laptop and your bag of toiletries if needed, put 'em on the belt. Not much else to it).

Aberguy, I have had great service and do appreciate the work all of you do. I know it can't be easy. But, unfortunately, complaints are heard far more often than positive experiences. I'd post one if I could remember the details, but alas, the negative ones stick out more.

Personally, I've had bad experiences with United and Continental, but both were results of the circumstances, really. My United flight was delayed, then disappeared off the board so the only way I could find out info was to look it up on my iPhone-their website said it was still on time. Meanwhile the desk was crowded with people trying to get on another flight. Five hours later, with the majority of my info coming from my iPhone and not from anyone at the airport, I finally boarded the flight. For Continental, the flight was delayed five hours and then canceled, because when the plane finally landed the crew had gone over their allotted hours and there was no crew for the plane. Unfortunate, but due to weather. I will agree that United has crappy customer service.

American Airlines, though, has always been great.
