I actually don't remember any episodes, but I know as a kid I watched them since there's video of me dancing to the theme song. :)

Sidney Sheldon is my all-time favorite novelist and when I found out he created this series, I was totally enchanted. He talks about Hagman and his fits a bit in his autobiography, "The Other Side of Me" and if I recall correctly, he put the tantrums down to Hagman's inferiority complex, which resulted from having a famous mom (Mary Martin, who I think played Peter Pan, right?) Sheldon basically said, well, you can't compete with Eden's midriff!

Is the show funny? Well, I know Sheldon implied that the show was a sitcom, and as such, had to conform to certain storytelling conventions. He offered one plot that was full of sitcom tropes as being the best template for a Jeannie episode, so I guess if you enjoy classic sitcom misunderstandings etc., then it's funny.
