My copy of this book just arrived from Amazon yesterday, and I'm loving it. I'm not to the section on email yet though. I had a zero inbox once. It lasted until the weekend.
Scratch that. Damn. It's Monday and I must be more tired than I though. Millimeters, not meters. Now I feel quite a fool. It still sounds very thin for some reason.

That sounds mighty thin. According to the Wikipedia article linked:
"The Yamal is equipped with a double hull. The outer hull is 48 mm thick where ice is met and 25 mm elsewhere and has a polymer coating to reduce friction."
Big difference. If that's verbatim from the book, that's quite an error.
I can see Noah's point, although I've never found anything objectionable at this site, and I've been a reader for a very long time. If there's something I don't care to read about I'll just scroll past it.
That said, do you think it would be possible for posts like this in the future to have a "continue reading" link after it's established what the post will be about? That way it would be possible for visitors like Noah to avoid being offended, while people like me can easily click through to get to the rest of the post.
