My misgivings about Enterprise was that it turned into a soap opera. Season 3 became one long seralized story. ST:TOS and ST:TNG episodes were all stand-alone stories (two-part stories episodes notwithstanding). Also, when Enterprise went into this never-ending story, they lost all sense of humor. The first two seasons were peppered with light-hearted stories, or at least stories where some comic relief was inserted.
Since the author hasn't completed Season 3 yet, I'll forego my comments that would tip him off to events of Season 4, but in my mind, the show continued to go downhill. No wonder it didn't return for a fifth season.
I loved Raid Over Moscow on the Commodore 64. I was in the Air Force at the time and worked on B-52's. It was a cool fantasy to play and to nuke Moscow in the game!
Personally I think we should ban San Francisco! Kind of makes you wish those fictional accounts of sections of California sliding into the Pacific Ocean during an earthquake would come true for this particular locale!
"For example, a person who is being dishonest may have dilated pupils and take longer to read and answer the questions. These reactions are often minute and require sophisticated measurement and statistical modeling to determine their significance."
Saying a person who is being dishonest MAY have dilated pupils means that someone may exhibit the same reaction while being honest.
Using statistical modeling means that they can only state the PROBABILITY that someone is lying, not that a person is CERTAINLY lying.
Until there is a way to actually read someone's thoughts, any kind of polygraph or lie-detector will not provide any useful data (meaning it won't be acceptable as legal evidence).
This country cannot exist without creating wealth by taking raw materials, adding labor and skill, and generating a product which is worth more than the sum of its parts. You cannot create wealth by a service economy.
This country has been bleeding manufacturing jobs for decades. At some point when we lose enough, the economy will collapse completely.
It's not just a matter of buying American, as many American companies are moving manufacturing facilities to Mexico where not only labor is cheaper, but also where they don't have to worry about costs associated with worker's compensation, unemployment compensation, environmental laws and other factors that save more money than the savings on labor costs.
