I've always wonderd why the book-styles tablet never seemd to appear, it seems like such an obvious form-factor.
When closed, both of the screens are protected from damage and when open there is twice the display area of any other device.

I'm guessing (it wasn't mentioned in the article) that it might have ended up as heavy and bulky as two iPads gaffer-taped together and (at least for an un-modified version of Windows) a custom set of configurations (2 screen displays, touchscreen & pop-up keyboard) for the form-factor would have to be loaded when it left the factory and if changed might pretty much brick it (one display stops working, no touchscreen and/or no pop-up keyboard) as far as most users would be concerned.

Maybe it really was for the best that it was never fully developed and released?

Funny how the "urinals" have taps above them.
I wonder if these are really the wash-up sinks?
The images from the article show other ones which have what looks like urinal flush gear on them.

The other way around would be just a bit more amusing:
...she sat in the eating kindle, as...
There was a little kindle, just behind...
...were having a bit of kindley...

Perhaps this one would be pretty funny:
...with a lit match above a great pile of nook: ready to light the...

It's a recumbent motorbike, Kaneda sits up on it and looks even more laid-back than most Harley riders.
I am slightly disappointed that it isn't electric (or hybrid), the anime made it pretty clear that it had electric hub motors and (maybe) a fuel-powered generator to recharge the batteries.
At one point in the movie Kaneda recharges the laser rifle using the motorbike and when it's damaged, there are electrical sparks shooting out around the hub of the front wheel.

I'm not the slightest bit obsessed with this bike. ;)

The timing of the Nimitz arrival would be all wrong to help with WWII against Japan.
Robert Farley's speculation would only pan out if the Nimitz had arrived _after_ the attack on Pearl Harbour.
Destroying the IJN before it could attack would have removed the most pressing reason for the USA to declare war on Japan in 1941.
There may never have beed a declaration of war against Japan.
Arriving after the attack on Pearl would mean that (I imagine) after convincing the US navy who they were and what sort of capabilities that this one single aircraft carrier has, it would have been extremely hard to convince Roosevelt to not nuke Tokyo as soon as possible.

This just really silly and just an excuse to waste money on a flashy machine.
It would be better is the teachers called the roll at the beginning of each class, that way there's no sneaking off after initial check-in and no extra $20,000 required.
That's what all of the schools I've attended and worked at have ever done and it seems to work just fine.

The major problem with this hypothesis is that China hasn't cooled, despite all the pollution apparently floating over that country.

Rember all the smog that was constantly forming over Beijing during the Olympics?
It is apparently like that all the time.

The footage and pictures supplied must be part of a marketing campaign for a movie or TV series of some sort.

That is a screen capture of the co-ordinates supplied with Google Earth set to show Mars.
There is nothing there, except basically featureless terrain and the usual craters.

The dmaged vehicle is a ute or utility truck, not a "soft roader" SUV which has unibody construction.
The body plays no structural role,
it's bolted to the frame of the vehicle which has all the drive-train and steering mechanism.
So I would expect it to be driveable if the frame wasn't damaged by whatever squished the cabin.

It would also help if the notes were made of polymer.
Very hard to forge if the "paper" is unavailable and if bleaching is tried (or even possible), there could be embossing and clear windows that would have to align with the fake printing.

Amazing: A women wearing her clothes like most men wear theirs, IE: over and over again.
I shall stage a protest by forcing myself to drink cold beer and eat juicy, cooked steaks with chips and salad.
Ain't I a hero?
