that was an awesome article. sloane, other than the obvious cubic zirconia, they do make another stone now, i think its called diamonite or something similar, usually found in mail order catalogues, and i think the argos catalogue might do it. they're cheap, but look pretty good actually! (i think a lot of diamonds look like cubic zirconias anyway, as theres a heck of lot more of them about anyway!)
