Damn, I thought I'd seen the last of that thing...

That's a moon I originally acquired in 1988. It revolved around my head until 1996 -- a huge annoyance -- until a particularly violent sneeze gave it a gravitational slingshot and I never saw it again. Until now.

Despite the ominous appearance, this is actually just a device for locating the coin slots on mini globe banks. It takes much more precision than you'd think.

Close, ladybugs, but the leashes attached to this wrist collar were for children, not dogs. The wrist collar was often worn by the parent or, for a less taxing herding experience, was sometimes attached to the oldest/most responsible/slowest kid.

A gaff hook for landing narwhals with a built-in rotary tusk sharpener, used by Inuits in their groom-and-release program, an eco-friendly alternative to cultural whaling practices.

These are Victorian-era bustle stays, which prevented the embarrassing "sidecar effect" of an inadvertently rotated bustle. The device clamped onto the midline of the bustle, with the fin keying into the wearer's conveniently placed natural cleft, thus preventing lateral bustle drift.
