Amazingly insightful. When my favorite car was totaled in a three car accident (an SUV shoved my car into the SUV in front of me at a stoplight), I was mortified. However, I acknowledged the odd fact that had I not been there at that time, the SUV ahead of me (full of young parents) would likely have been pushed into the busy intersection, and things could have been significantly worse. As it is, no one was seriously injured.

My ex, ever the "Negative Nancy", instead of silently glad at my misfortune of losing my only transportation (which I expected), openly sulked because 'she has all the luck!' To this day, I'm perplexed! LoL
