Would it make a difference in the telling of the story? - no. To the eyes of the hundreds of the thousands of viewers in Washington state? - definitely. The ecology, culture, and politics of the two sides of the state are different, mostly because of the Cascades running through the middle. The dot on the map puts the show just north of Spokane. Show me two photos of trees and a lake, from opposite sides of the state and I'll (probably) have no problem telling which side of the state it was shot in. Just as I can tell the difference between a show allegedly set in Seattle, but really it's Vancouver. Just a few hundred miles difference between the citys, but there will be several 'tells' to anyone raised there. The quality of the light is a big 'tell' when looking at the landscape in the Northwest.
The representative dot for 'Twin Peaks' is even further off course. The exteriors for the show were shot in Snoqualmie and North Bend. Both towns are just east of Seattle, which is on Puget Sound (the opposite side of the state).
"'The Birds' could be the most terrifying motion picture I have ever made." (Hitchcock is also quoted as saying, 'Puns are the highest form of literature.')
And yet Jello is still here. I have a recipe from Jello for a four-layer pudding pie. In my family it was called a 'The Torte'. On birthdays, mom would make us a torte in the pudding flavor of your choice, or a carrot cake.
I took the chocolate version to a senior's potluck and three women identified it before I could get the plastic off the 9 X13; all of it was consumed.
I've been reading Miss C. for a couple of years. I know what she looks like. (Beauty is a burden, yet she goes on smiling, joking and offering us fluff to snuggle through the tears...) I was inquiring about something more Neatorama-centric for those readers less familiar with the bloggers.
