I totally feel you Alex. I live in San Diego and have the same problem yearly it seems. At least I moved out of the rural area so the threat isn't as bad now.
It's almost becoming a common place thing. I was going to my mom's today in Temecula and it seemed like it was no big deal that her boyfriend couldn't come out this weekend because all the freeways are blocked.
I guess it's the price we pay for not having to worry about blizzards every winter.

Am I the only one that thinks if a homeless person has a gun they should at least be able to sell that to get money? Those are expensive yo....what would make you choose a gun over food money?

I love the idea of using corgis as units of measurement.

Maybe she should have just fed the thing to start with and it wouldn't be so hungry it attacked her.

The laser etched things are fantastic. The comment above about how the crap machine is a very valid statement about modern America is absolutely true. So you don't like his art. Does that mean no one else should discuss it?
There were people who didn't like Picasso's art, that doesn't mean there was any validation in their critiquing it. I'm not saying he is a modern Picasso by any stretch of the imagination. But I am saying that if you don't like something, you don't need to sit there and waste your breath bitching about it. Instead, go find something you like instead.
Thanks for this post Neatorama.
I personally think he should have used REAL salami on the floor, because I think using images of it is a cop-out, but that's my only critique.

Where's the link to the police website? That's what I want to see in every story about this.

Great post. Owney's collar thing is adorable. I couldn't even teach my dog to lay down, so yours are probably better off than that at least.

It's not going to have the same personality or anything, so what's the point. My dog is my favorite little guy ever. But if he died, a dog that looked exactly like him and yet, wasn't him...that would break my heart whenever I looked at him.

I agree with everyone condemning the whiners. Don't be such babies, move on. The world is not full of nice things and if you happen to get a handful of them anywhere, be thankful.
On the otherhand, I think E is right, it sounds like they ripped off the article from Elephants on Acid.

I would be worried some of the places conducting the circumcisions won't be fully sterile, thereby increasing the chance for the people to get AIDs. It's called a condom. If you use one, you don't need to slice of your most precious nerve endings.

It's so sad how there's a major emergency here every year down here. It's terrible how many people lose their homes.
