There's no such thing as the "patriarchy"; it's a false premise and it's the reason feminism fails as a philosophy. Rape is certainly vile and indefensible, though.
Independent Broadcasting Authority, the former regulatory body for commercial tv and radio in the UK, as opposed to the BBC (or "EBC" as it's know in Scotland) a public service broadcaster that is supposedly impartial (and if you believe that, have a look at this lovely bridge, yours for a knock-down price).
That's a real shame. I recently saw a wedding cortège in Glasgow that comprised just 2 pristine VW camper vans, one pastel blue, the other green, all decked out with white ribbons and packed with the bride, groom, family and friends all looking very happy on their special day.
When I can manage it, I'm going to hire or buy one of those and tour the Pacific Northwest. My big adventure!
I could really do with the second one. As I've got older (when will someone invent a way to stop that horrible process?!) I've become ridiculously hirsute, in all the wrong places...
Not all people have pets and perhaps some would find it upsetting to think of their loved one buried next to someone else's pet rat. Loses a bit of the dignity and sanctity, I think.

This is the kind of thing that keeps me checking out Neatorama; but for this blog I'd never have know about all number of not just interesting but worthy projects that ordinary people, in some very extraordinary and downright scary situations, are investing an incredible amount of talent, creativity and hard work in.
And you'd be right to do so, I'm forever tripping over under-butlers and scullery maids. And as for castles and country mansions? Can't get moving for the damn things.
