As Neil D said, Fats Domino (just one example in New Orleans alone) had been playing this music for quite a while before March of 1955.

I once worked with a guy who thought Washington, D.C. was in Washington state. No joke. And that's only one example of his ignorance.

I'm a fan of much of the '60s but, for me, this isn't nostalgia, it's just dated.

Just an observation, not a criticism: I can pretty much guarantee he's married. This is classic married guy behavior. It keeps him out of his wife's hair and vice versa. I can't really imagine very many single men doing this. But like I say, just an observation.

The quirky thing about comments is that it's all a matter of timing. If this article had been posted on another day, chances are the comments would have been on the pro-green slant. Or maybe not.
