That catalog cover shot looks suspiciously like Tea Leoni. I wonder if this is some early modeling work from her.

Easiest if you just straighten the arc, like a bent coat-hanger... now the arrows point towards each other... it's only gone 1/2 turn.

The coin in the first one hasn't made a full rotation as far as I'm concerned. It's made 1/2 of a rotation around it's own axis along with 1/2 of a revolution around the axis of the center coin.

I don't believe there is any need for cruise ships or manipulation of timezones in the answer. One twin born at 11:45pm on Feb 28, the other born at 12:15 am on March 1 will do nicely. When it is a leap year, their birthdays will be celebrated two days apart.
