It turns out I know the Bosavi area pretty well. I was a part of the BBC expedition that this thread is about. When we talk about "new" species, we're talking about species that were previously unknown to science. Of course some of the "new" animals we found were already known to the Kosua people but some of the things we found were a surprise, even to the locals. The Bosavi region is really increadible and if you're the slightest bit curious about the place you should try to make it there at some point in your life. Check out me website to find out how.
