the first definition of now i came across was: 1. at the present time or moment. the present time/ moment is constantly changing, so there could be a million "now's" in the time it takes him to say now, let alone the time it takes for his nose to grow. my point being that he is lying because by the time he says it, the moment he was talking about is gone, and so his nose will grow.
