I'm not surprised. It was going to be held at Watkins Glen Raceway (at least 150 miles from Max Yasgur's farm) and featured The Killers, Dead and Co, Imagine Dragons and Jay-Z. Other artists on the bill included Miley Cyrus, The Lumineers, Chance the Rapper, Sturgill Simpson, Halsey and Cage the Elephant. The only original participants were going to be John Fogerty, John Sebastian, David Crosby, Canned Heat and Country Joe McDonald. And the tickets were going to be expensive. Lowest estimate I saw was $500 for the three day pass. My three day pass in 1969 cost $18 (about $120 in today's money). One big problem, aside from the performers, was that the ticket prices were never officially announced. Sure I'd think about going, but would I have to sell my car to get there?
Hey, cool! I knew the Cisco Kid, man. The Cisco Kid was a friend of mine.He drank whiskey, Poncho drank the wine. True story, man . . . We met down on the Fort of Rio Grande, We ate salted peanuts out of the can. The outlaws had us pinned down at the fort Cisco came in blastin', drinkin' port. We rode into the sunset on horses made of steel and we chased gringo rustlers through the fields. Yep, The Cisco Kid, he was a friend of mine.
Switching from Murrican to Communist measurement is a gradual process. First the French had to infiltrate, then the British had to be turned away from the light. What ever happened to Pounds Shillings and Pence? Undermined by the EU!. Its all a plot by the New World Order Like the old saying goes: Give them a centimeter, and they'll take a kilometer.
Rather awkwardly worded note." The Dry Tortugas is a massive 19th century fortress (once hosted Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon and an influx of marauding pirates)" The Dry Tortugas are a chain of small islands near Key West Florida. The massive 19th century fortress is Fort Jefferson.Constructed between 1846 and 1861, it could not have hosted Ponce de León who died in 1521.
The photos are OK, I guess. The captions are the best part. Halloween costumes in the 1600s? Really? Two centuries before cameras were invented? First McDonalds in Russia symbolizes the end of the Soviet Union? Note the USSR flag on the arches. Hiroshima before and after the pump?
The point was:humans can be reasonably clever. They can figure out how to achieve some pretty great things. I thought the movement and balance was a pretty elegant solution. How about moving a 20 ton slab without a crane? (And no cheating using Aliens!) Hold my beer.https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=E5pZ7uR6v8c
Go to the Funeral Museum's website. They have tons of cool stuff besides the Lego stuff.https://shop.bestattungsmuseum.at/ Too bad they don't ship to the US. I'd spend a fortune there.
Maybe a new headline?Airbus did not make DC 10 airliners.McDonnell Douglas did. By the way: What are prying visitors? And what is the "country’s authentic culinary mainstay?"
"Karen Swallow Prior is Professor of English at Liberty University and a research fellow with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention" Liberty University is a private evangelical Christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was founded by Jerry Falwell. Its "Science" Department teaches Creationism. I'll bet her opinion was not based on reliable science and/or objective facts.
