That was my take on it. Or maybe Oprah just looked like a stereotypical American tourist, expecting everyone to kiss her butt and the assistant didn't want to be bothered. European plus high-end shop = snooty X 2. There's a subtle difference between this and wearing a hoodie in Florida, I imagine.
