Too much of anything is bad. Sugar is essential to life. Your body breaks down complex carbohydrates into sugar because that's what makes your cells work. Don't eat too much and don't worry about sugar.

The inventors say it could be used "for short-term rescue of profoundly hypoxemic patients, to selectively augment oxygen delivery to at-risk organs, or for novel diagnostic techniques."
Please keep bringing us neato science, but there's no way this invention will be used to live underwater without breathing.

I'm not great at puzzles, but this was too easy.
SEMI SPOILER ALERT
Besides, why did the soldiers just let him go? He was promised freedom if he was wounded, not if he escaped injury. They could have left him tied up. Since they disobeyed a direct order, they would have all been executed. Their chances would have been better shooting at the prisoner.

No, it is more like a CD. The muscle fibers are spaced close to the wavelength of visible light- similar to the track or pit spacing on a CD. Oil sheens are due to the thickness of the oil layer being close to the wavelength (or a multiple thereof).

It is due to the spacing of the muscle fibers being close to (or possibly multiples of) the wavelength of the color observed. The meat has to be cut across the grain. over 30 years ago I had a friend who studied this by doing surgery on cats and shining a laser through a thin section of their muscles.

I would cost them a lot more than a slice of cheese to train a new employee.

Btw how do they cook their burgers these days? I noticed there are no grills anymore. Their burgers are never warm enough.
