Molly M.'s Comments

There's a documentary about how the White House is run and maintained that interviews butlers and cooks and all kinds of people. It's really good, I've seen it a couple of times.

There's a butler in it (though I don't think it was Mr. Allen) who had been there for decades, who claimed to say to a president, "At the White House, presidents come and go, but butlers are here forever" or something along those lines.

I've always loved that quote.

My thoughts, when looking at the picture without reading the text:

Did someone find a fossilized nipple?

Poor choice of color for making a cast of the fossil.

Sweet! I used to walk up and down the "horror" section in Blockbuster when I was a little kid just to scare myself looking at the boxes, although I was never brave enough to RENT the movies.

The posters are so much better, though.

I live in Maryland. When I was living with my parents, our neighbors used to hand out candy every year...until their adult-aged son had to move back in with them. While going through the lists of sex offenders in our zip code online that the police maintain we found out that he was a sex offender of some kind (the charge was vague, we're not totally sure what happened). They were no longer allowed to hand out candy AND the police came to their house on Halloween to check to make sure they were abiding by the law that they had to have their lights out and all.

It's not fake, it's really what they make them do around here.

I love tourist traps. I think they're fun and hokey and make for great pictures for the family album ("Here's Jimmy in front of the lower 48 state's largest frying pan!")

With that said, I can say that South Of the Border is falling into disrepair. It was never great but every time I've been there in the last 10 years, most everything is closed except for 1 gift shop and 1 restaurant. Unlike Gerry, I'd like to see it brought back (although, it's pretty bad when it comes to Mexican stereotypes).

I have to say though, as much as I love tourist traps, I don't think you could pay me enough to stay in the "300-room motel".

I have pictures of myself when I was a kid at the Enchanted Forest in MD, I went in the 80s.

When you drive down the main road that runs in front of the park, the huge gates of the entrance can still be seen from the road, with a big dragon peeking over the wall and the face of the king shown on the map smiling at you from the sign...it's pretty creepy actually, but also cool.

Just for context, my husband and I do not have children...but we've only been married 6 months. We're both pretty sure children are in the cards for us, in a few years.

I've heard this stat before, that people with children are overall less happy than people without children. HOWEVER, when people with kids think of their children, their level of happiness goes up. The thing is, you don't spend ALL DAY thinking about your children (or at least I assume you don't).

The stress of a life involving children, I would believe, would make you less happy, but the actual child does not make you less happy.

I would be afraid that I would get to the end of my life and regret not being a parent, especially when I believe that my husband and I would produce a valuable member of society.
