Having eaten dog at one point in my life, lion just does not sound like it will taste good at all. Probably very string-ey, which is why they chose to put it into something as pedestrian as tacos.

Lol @ the drama +1

Did I miss something? All I see is a post regarding a website/blog that is basically a new spin on the Chuck Norris meme, using Ronald Reagan.
Was there some lengthy political article I missed?

I'd rather see this than another museum of possibilities post.

Yeah, I really do not see it as an experiment due to the fact that I know of kids who live in a home that still has dirt/wooden floors, is heated by a wood stove and has NO electricity. they take a shower at a realtives home, or wash up with a pail of water from the tiny little stream behind the house, which is where their "cooler" is.
For them, that is not an experiment it is everyday life.

Maybe she could teach the kids how to help other kids living that "experiment" life. ?

@Scott-O and glinglin. Because overweight people do not exist anwhere outside of the US? I look forward to you scientific findings when they are published in the leading journals.

Heh. My accordion instructor used to be in the Russian Army. They would have occasional exercises in Siberia. He related a story to me about how they would grab a cup of hot water and then sling it's contents towards another and by the time the water reached the face of the other soldier, it would do exactly that.

The case happened here in Albuquerque. In order for the Mickey D's to get the water to be boiling for their coffee here, in the 'Burque, it is going to be super hot because as I pointed out, we are above sea level. So of course the coffee here is going to be super hot at 190.

Douglas' post reminded me of another thing. Albuquerque is about 5000 feet above sea level. At this altitude, water boils at 203F. So, when you see the independent tests done around the city of Albuquerque, at different Mc D's, of course the coffee temps are going to be unreasonably high. Because water does not boil at this altitude below 203.

@ Midnight

There were cup holders in Ford Probes.

The expert on thermodynamics for the case testified that liquids, at 180 degrees, will cause a full thickness burn to human skin in two to seven seconds. This does not "melt flesh" as you say. It is a third degree burn that causes the skin to necrotize. The heat also causes proteins in the body to "clump". The body ends up sloughing it off.

Stella was wearing cotton sweatpants. Cotton has a melting point of 250°. I highly doubt that the coffee served that day was at that temp.

Her burns were severe, but that is not bone in the image. It is most likely silvadene or whatever the burn was dressed with.
This is a graphic burn image - For people wanting to see an image of the burns she received > http://www.prwatch.org/files/images/burn.jpg

Stella's original suit for the amount of $20,000 was yo cover the actual and anticipated expenses. Her past medical expenses were $10,500;
The anticipated future medical expenses were approximately $2,500.
Her loss of income was approximately $5,000 for a total of approximately $18,000.
She was not suing because she was "going to lose everything.".

Yay. The lawsuit that made my city famous. :/

For those posting "people are sue happy" - this was sort of the case that got the ball rolling. Back then it was not common to see "I am not liable for my own stupidity" lawsuits.

Both parties are at fault.

The Mc D's in the images is not where it happened. The Mc D's it happened at is right around the corner from a hospital. why they did not drive ther after the spill has always puzzled me.
