I work in Occupational Therapy, and things like sock aids, reachers, long handled shoehorns, and long handled sponges are indispensable for patients who have had a hip replaced. Hip replacement patients are not allowed to bend more then 90° at the hip for at least 3 months. That is a lot of time sitting around not only without socks, but pants and underwear. The sock aids I use look different then this one. With the one I use, you don't have to bend over at all. I teach not only hip patients, but stroke, knee, etc. how to get dressed every day.
