He wrote "The Cuckoo's Egg" about the "KGB hacker" incident, a great read as I recall. Interesting that he mentioned the riots at SUNY-Buffalo, see http://books.google.com/books?id=h2Tp9VBvq68C&pg=PA238 for some details. I was on campus during that, an amazing radical time.

Count Kiranov, the 1950's aren't considered to be "the days of vaudeville", although folks like Sid Caesar certainly based a lot of their skits on vaudeville and burlesque.

I had the awesome opportunity to see the traditional Tuvan group Huun-Huur-Tu (http://www.huunhuurtu.com/) a couple of years ago (in Bloomington, Indiana, home of Indiana U., no less!), and it was completely mesmerizing to hear this stuff live. Got my copy of "60 Horses in My Herd" autographed too!

This is no more a hologram than any other persistence of vision gadget. Different viewpoints of an object are generated and reflected off of a moving mirror -- big deal. You wanna try putting your hand into that?
