That reminds me of all the colored appliances from back in the 60s and 70s. Today we wouldn't dream of those colors but they were all the rage then. It's also like the iMacs from the early 2000s those were very colorful but now that feels very out of date. Just get some vinyl stickers or a laptop cover and you'll be fine.
It's too bad the article didn't share the images of the foreigners that the Japanese were working with. It is interesting to see how they imagined outsiders looked like after hundreds of years.
I suspect that there is a great deal of artificial selection here. For example the smaller salmon breeds which the larger salmon compete with may not be fished as much as the larger salmon so yes competition because of human intervention.
Compared to a cubicle farm this sounds like paradise. I'd be in favor of my own space to work from. Of course right now the question is if working in an office is needed at all.
There is something to be said about the freedom of just having a phone and not a computer, email device, and other things to keep us constantly connected. If it's important they'll call. Of course today in the era of robocalls maybe a phone that you can avoid them with would be best.
Baby gators do sound like kittens in the distance. Combine that with this and now it seems that maybe cats have conquered more of the world than we imagined.
Agreed, someone would get charged with breaking the law and then they'd say, "Well my phone let me do it so I didn't know it was against the law." While we might all agree this would never work as an argument for speeding a jury might very well think that that is a pretty reasonable argument and hold Apple liable.
I wonder how long until we feel impacts of this. Sure it's just the gasses interacting but how far way from Earth is the point of impact and should we expect something to reach us in a few hundred or thousand years?
That's pretty impressive. Pretty soon we might not need folks to animate mouths anymore. Of course emotions might be a problem if we leave it up to a computer.
Probably teach humility and team work. Because no matter how "smart" a kid is if they can't work with a team all their talent goes to waste. I've known many brilliant engineers who can't get work done because they can't communicate with others or won't condescend to working with people not on their "level".
