the title is misleading. LA is not banning fast food outright, just the construction of new fast food joints in certain neighborhoods (which are pretty well saturated anyway, from the sound of things).

that is fantastic. i used to be an educational aide for a boy with severe CP, and they tried to use an eye movement controlled computer with him, but he couldn't hold his head still enough for it to work for him. he was very bright but had almost no means of communication; i think if this had been available it could have shaped his life.
There used to be Santas Land in Putney, VT that I am pretty sure has closed. Does anyone know if you can still eat in the igloo? I had a very trippy experience there in college in the early 90s.
