I saw a documentary not long ago where forensic detectives showed how a murder could have taken place. Personally, I don't feel that it was a suicide - he had too much going for him at the time.
A good assessment. This was a program for kids, not adults, and I don't see how any normal kid could not have liked it. You comment about these people applying current standards to the past is spot on. Now maybe if Clutch were gay and Spinner a transgender........
I am ashamed to say that I have never seen Space Angel, probably due to its not being offered in the DFW area in the early 60's. Had it been on TV then, I am sure that I would have seen it, since we never missed an episode of Clutch Cargo. I have to admit there is a bloodline here since the animation style and technique appears to be identical. A tip of my top hat to you for posting this.
Well, I agree that suicide is not funny (unless you watch the original film M.A.S.H. from 1970) but I think their point was that the director was such a failure in life that he became a failure in death, or in an attempt at it anyway.
Well, 'worst' is a subjective term and there will never be 100% agreement. I too have seen Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, and it IS pretty bad, but I consider it to be more of a comedy than sci-fi. Robot Monster took itself seriously, whereas SCCTM did not. Both were awful films but did at least possess some modicum of entertainment value and that is a redeeming feature. As Alex would tell us, Manos: The Hands of Fate did not even offer that and so too is a strong contender for the title of Worst.Film.Ever.Made.

While most films listed are true B-movies, some, like Rodan, are quite good and the site acknowledges that. I go by his skull-rating system, which is pretty consistent. Interesting; that is one cartoon that I never watched for some reason. Was probably on at the same time as something else I did watch, in a time long before VCR. We watched things like Fireball XL-5 and others that I will have to recollect. This was all in Fort Worth, Texas, and I know that our local market did not carry all programming that was available. But we did have Icky Twerp and Slam-Bang Theater; try to beat that.
