Site is back up now - unfortunately the old games were lost, but the 400+ games that have finished in the last 30 hours are ridiculous! Less bugs and more features! I think I did at least 20 games last night...
I say "a-BOUT", but I also live near Niagara Falls, Ontario and get influenced from Buffalo media. I've been to a few eastern states (NY thru MD and DC), as well as CA and most recently WA and notice "route" being said as "r'OUT", but I generally say "root", so perhaps the "a-boot" myth is a result of differences in similar sounding and spelled words. Plus, and you can admit it, it's fun to make fun of us Canadians.
They're real - I saw this guy on the Colbert Report a couple of weeks ago. He also has a book out of his collection of patches called "I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have to Be Destroyed by Me: Emblems from the Pentagon's Black World". Definitely worth a look
