Proposal at the Met

Here's a love story that belongs in a museum. Redditor krysxvi took his girlfriend to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. What she didn't know is a special artwork was hanging there, illustrating his proposal that didn't happen until they got to that exhibit.

He tells the story here.

Story: In September we took a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As we walked the aisles of art from ancient times and contemporary alike, they happened upon a room of Picasso's art (Marybeth's favorite). My brother and sister in law were able to then hang the painting I had made of himself proposing to Marybeth wearing the red polka dot dress next to a Picasso. After I was given the signal I brought my girlfriend to the painting where she began immediately began crying when she realized that the painting was of what was about to take place. I bent the knee and she nodded yes as tears traveled down her rosy cheeks. Her cousin, who had been undercover waiting for them to arrive at the museum, beautifully documented the moment through her photography. Soon after I rose back to my feet, we were greeted by a less than happy guard who told them to remove the painting from the wall and suggested that we leave. After a few more quick photos, the gang left the building and the rest is history or should I say...art history.

I knew she'd be wearing that dress because I had her mom buy it a few weeks in advance for her and then convinced her to wear it that day. Also I had asked a few other small museums for permission to do this and none obliged so I just said f it and decided I just do it at the biggest museum I could think of and ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

We also found out he did not remove any art for the stunt, and he used a Command strip in order to leave no damage. Some commenters thought it was a horrible thing to do to the museum, while others thought it would make a good movie.

That will be a drawing they'll both cherish forever. -via reddit

Could You Drink a Cockroach Cappuccino?

Barista Chang Kuei Fang is quite gifted when it comes to making foam art. She often makes custom creations based on her client's pet photos, but after a video of her cockroach drink went viral, she's now constantly being asked to create insect coffees.

The art take up to 15 minutes to create and Fang charges anywhere from $6.50 to $32 for one of her drinks -making them pretty pricey for a cup of coffee. But then again, it's a small price to pay for a drinkable masterpiece.

Alyson Tabbitha's Cosplay Magic

We saw cosplayer Alyson Tabbitha just a few days ago in this post, portraying Captain Jack Sparrow in uncanny fashion. Now take a look at what she looks like without a costume, and as Wonder Woman! Yes, both pictures are Tabbitha. On the left, pretty woman you've never met, on the right, Gal Gadot. It's the power of the makeup she does herself, and the costume is spot on. See more of Tabbitha's cosplay at Instagram. Also check out her makeup tutorials at YouTube. -via reddit

Spinner's Life

You may think you hate fidget spinners more than anyone else on the planet, but do you know who hates the spinner trend more than any human ever could?

The fidget spinners themselves, and even though they're riding high right now because they're the hot new toy they know they'll someday go the way of the yo-yo, only worse- because we still enjoy watching people do yo-yo tricks. Fidget spinner tricks? Not so much... (comic by Sephko)

Heartbeats

When he said that, I knew there was something wrong. A gap in logic? No, he was perfectly honest in what he said, but what he meant went right over her head. Oh well, at least she had thirty years before she figured out his scheme. The thing is, even if he didn't live any longer by choosing to marry her, it probably still felt like eternity. This comic is from the deranged mind of Zack Weinersmith at Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

Before And After Photos Reveal How Far Cosplayers Have Come Over The Years

(Images via Kinpatsu Cosplay)

Cosplayers who get serious about their craft never stop improving and refining their costuming skills, and after a few years of making costumes they look back at their first cosplay creations and have a good laugh.

It's fun to see how far a cosplayer has come with their costuming and prop building skills over the years, and the difference is night and day when their old and new costumes are presented side-by-side.

Some show marked improvement after only a few years, while others spent over a decade honing their skills so they can take the Cons by storm in their amazing costume.

And while not every cosplayer will improve their skills so dramatically those who do prove they've got what it takes to make screen worthy costumes that stand up to scrutiny.

Simon's Cat in Spider Cat

The new animation from Simon Tofield is this year's Halloween cartoon. The cat is up in the attic, and he doesn't want to leave. I've dealt with that situation. You don't want your cat to climb the ladder to the attic- you'll never find him again!

(YouTube link)

The attic can be a scary place, especially when the lights go out. It's full of spiders! After the new cartoon, there's a couple more classic Simon's Cat stories in this video.  -via Tastefully Offensive

Batman Ninja Coming in 2018

A few seconds of a new movie called Batman Ninja were unveiled at New York Comic Con on Thursday. The Warner Bros. movie is an anime adventure in which Batman and his regular cast of characters are set in medieval Japan. Director Jumpei Mizusaki spoke about the movie, and Charles Pulliam-Moore gives us a report at io9.

Picture Batman, decked out in shogun’s armor and wielding a katana, charging at the Joker, who’s also brandishing a sword, but draped in a fanciful, ancient Japanese courtier’s outfit that’s overflowing with tattered ruffles that bounce along with his maniacal laugh.

On a tiled roof, the pair crash and slash at one another in a dizzying flow of gorgeous swordsmanship and the Joker taunts Batman that, even in this unfamiliar time and place, he’s still every bit the bloodthirsty killer he was in Gotham.

He says in a comment,

During the panel, Mizusaki actually made a point of emphasizing that the film is very much a Japanese production that’s about how Japan sees Batman rather than how Batman sees Japan.

Zombie Bacooon - Nothing's Wrong, That's Just How Piggy Looks Without Her Makeup!

Zombie Bacooon by Li.Ro.Vi

It's not uncommon for pigs to develop a taste for themselves, especially when careless ranchers try to cut down on feed costs by mixing a bit of pork in with their grub, but a pig who acquires a taste for bacon is a pig possessed. They become very much like those walking dead zombies people like to put in movies and TV shows, only bacon hungry pigs take the time to peel the bacon off their fellow pigs strip by strip. Then they fry it up right in front of them and feed it to them, and once a pig gets a taste for its own tasty strips the zombification begins and the undead infestation continues...

Wearing this Zombie Bacooon t-shirt by Li.Ro.Vi will make people want to eat you all up wherever you go!
