It looks like it's basically the same idea as those videos projected onto buildings. The diference is that this uses a motion control camera which matches the movements of a pre-rendered animation so that it looks like we're getting a different perspective when the camea moves. It's pretty cool... but would look very odd from any other vantage I reckon.
